In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, I had the honor of facilitating a Self-Love Workshop for the dynamic and inspiring community at Sisters in Public Health.
This workshop created space for meaningful dialogue and reflection around topics that deeply affect our mental well-being—perfectionism, self-esteem, boundaries, and cognitive reframing. Participants engaged in guided mindfulness practices, affirmations, and psychoeducation designed to support both personal and professional growth.
Our time together centered around building self-awareness and emotional resilience, while also encouraging participants to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and reconnect with their inherent worth.
I had the privilege of being part of the career panel for Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and Moment Like This at their It Takes a Village event. It was an incredible opportunity to pour into the next generation and share words of wisdom with those ready to make their mark.
Mentoring and uplifting young minds is something I’m deeply passionate about, and I’m so grateful for the chance to contribute to their growth and success.
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Sound Business Inc.’s 30th Annual Career Day and Mock Interview Competition at A. Philip Randolph Campus High School! I had the honor of joining a diverse group of professionals, including doctors, lawyers, psychologists, and employees from leading organizations like Disney, WABC, and more.
This event provided an incredible opportunity to connect with the next generation, offering guidance, insights, and support as they prepare to embark on their own career journeys. I’m grateful to have contributed to shaping their futures and empowering them to pursue their passions with confidence.
As part of my ongoing work in mental health and wellness, I had the pleasure of facilitating a workshop at Columbia Law School. This session focused on the collective grief that law students of color may be experiencing in response to the current administration, and how that grief can deeply impact self-esteem and personal well-being.
Creating space for open and honest conversations is at the heart of what I do. Too often, we’re not given the chance to express what we’re really feeling inside. That’s why spaces like this aren’t just valuable—they’re essential.
Had the honor of serving as the featured wellness speaker for Moments Like This’ FlexHER: Mat Pilates & Mindfulness event—an intentional and transformative experience curated to center the minds and bodies of Black women. This event wasn’t just about movement; it was about liberation. Through a powerful blend of boxing, mat pilates, and community dialogue, participants were invited to explore what it means to truly care for themselves in a world that often asks them to carry too much.
The wellness discussion I led focused on the radical nature of self-care—not as indulgence, but as resistance, restoration, and reclamation. Together, we unpacked the mental load, celebrated the importance of rest, and explored the connection between emotional well-being and physical embodiment.
Had the pleasure of joining Sneakpeak’s First Annual In-House Retreat. This was a beautifully curated day dedicated to rest, creativity, and intentional self-connection. The retreat offered a rich variety of wellness experiences, including sound baths, yoga, body butter making, flower arranging, and mindfulness practices, all designed to nurture the body and soul.
As a panelist, I had the opportunity to speak on the importance of self-care and self-love. Not just as buzzwords, but as essential practices for sustaining our mental health, especially in fast-paced or high-pressure environments. Our conversation explored the emotional and cultural layers of what it means to truly care for oneself, and how self-love is foundational to how we show up in our relationships, our work, and our communities.
